Set up PowerPoint Options

Customize your PowerPoint settings for easier and more efficient use.

Use Tools/Options to set up your PowerPoint work environment.

Always deselect the “Fast Save” to ensure stable operation. In the later versions of PowerPoint, this is not longer turned on by default.

You can also select the default location where your presentations will be saved.   I find it helpful to keep this location close to the root level of a hard drive.

Reducing the number of “Undos” will speed up your work.
